About the programme:

The Corporate Liaison Skills Programme is aimed at providing corporate liaison and communication officials with the necessary skills to perform their functions in an effective and efficient manner. The Programme is divided into two 3-day workshops. The participant needs to complete five modules in order to complete the programme. The workshop structure s set out below:

Workshop 1

Module 1: Self-confidence & image management.

  • Self confidence techniques
  • Basic presentation skills
  • Image management
  • Listening skills

 

 

Module 2: Speech writing and research.

  • Basic writing skills
  • Understanding the purpose of the speech
  • Basic speech layout and preparation
  • Structuring a excellent speech
  • Research techniques for speech writing

 

 

 

Module 3: Working with the media.

  • Media release writing
  • Radio interviews with media at scene
  • TV interviews with media at scene
  • Media sensitisation
  • Media briefings
  • Media monitoring & management

 

 

 

Workshop 2

Module 4: Internal communication skills

  • Corporate presentations
  • Interviewing skills
  • Basic newsletter and internal communication design
  • Internal communication strategies
  • Events management

 

 

 

Module 5: General external communication skills

  • Public and Community relations
  • Corporate image building
  • Crisis communication
  • Marketing Skills
  • Customer service relations

 

 

 

The workshop outcome:

After completion of this workshop the participant should be able to apply and practice effective corporate liaison skills.

Specific outcomes of the workshop content:

Participants will achieve the workshop outcome by being able to:

  • Demonstrate self confidence in presentations
  • Design and write an effective speech
  • Know how to work with and manage the media
  • Assist in building a positive company image
  • Manage internal communication effectively

Training methodology:

The methodology is based on interactive learning, i.e. learners will learn by doing. Furthermore learners will use examples from their own environments, thus ensuring that the learning is anchored at their workplace. As with all DCT training programmes, we strive to effect actual change back at the workplace through effective and practical outcomes based training.
