the workshop:
The
workshop is aimed at any person who wants to start a business, and who
needs knowledge and skills in the field of entrepreneurship. Areas covered

Programme
Assessment :
Participants
will be assessed on the following specific outcomes:

Identifying
and researching the potential for a SMME as an own business
- Identifying
the risk associated with a SMME
- Explaining
the financial aspects involved in running a SMME
- Making
and supporting a decision as to whether to establish a SMME
- Identifying
prospective customers and establishing their needs
- Establishing
and building the customer base
- Describing
the types of small business that is legal in South Africa
- Explaining
the registrations required for a small business
- Identifying
the importance of market research
- Understanding
the financial aspects of starting a small business
- Compiling
a basic business plan based on a budget for a SMME
- Identify
sources of income and expenditure and draw up a personal and business
budget
- Monitor
and control activities against budgets
- Justify
proposals for expenditure on projects
- Apply
methods to grow the business financially
Training methodology:
The methodology
is based on interactive learning, i.e. learners will learn by doing. Furthermore
learners will use examples from their own organisations, thus ensuring
that the learning is anchored at their workplace.
Delegates
must hand in a post workshop assignment before a certificate will be issued.
This post workshop assignment will service as the learners portfolio of
evidence for credits claimed.
As with all DCT training programmes, we strive to effect actual change
back at the workplace through effective and practical outcomes based training.
