About the programme:

The facilitation skills programme is aimed at any person who will benefit at skills in working with and facilitating group sessions, whether it is a structured or unstructured process. Facilitation techniques are required where a group/organization needs a team of people to work with specific outcomes such as strategic planning, problem solving policy development, etc.
These group sessions could take any of the following forms:

  • Group planning
  • Strategic retreats
  • Group decision making
  • Group dynamics
  • Group problem solving
  • Group bonding / team building
  • Mission & Vision development
  • Conflict resolution
  • Strategy development
  • Meeting facilitation

The workshop will cover the following areas:

  • Group planning, decision making and problem solving techniques
  • Facilitation & processing techniques and skills
  • Designing and planning the group intervention

The workshop outcome:

On completion of the programme participants should be able facilitate group processes.

Specific outcomes of the workshop content:

Participants will achieve the workshop outcome by being able to:

  • Understand the concept of ‘group consultation & facilitation’.
  • Know various techniques of group- planning, decision-making, and problem solving.
  • Facilitate a group process effectively.
  • Manage and design a group intervention.

Training methodology:

Teaching by example and experiential learning probably describes the training methodology most accurately. Participants will be actively involved in the learning and be assessed on facilitation techniques during the programme.
As with all DCT training programmes, we strive to effect actual change back at the workplace through effective and practical outcomes based training.
